Welcome to the Worker.NG FAQ

We’ve compiled answers to the most common questions to help you get the most out of our platform. Our goal is to make finding and connecting with skilled artisans in Nigeria as simple and transparent as possible.

👥 Questions for Customers (Finding an Artisan)

1

How does Worker.NG work?

Worker.NG is a public directory designed to connect you directly with local artisans across Nigeria. You can use our search bar to find artisans by their specific skill (like “Plumber” or “Mechanic”) and filter by your location (State and LGA). You can then browse their profiles, view their services, and contact them directly using the phone number or WhatsApp details they have provided.

2

Is it free to use this platform to find and contact artisans?

Yes, absolutely. Worker.NG is 100% free for customers. There are no hidden charges, commissions, or subscription fees for browsing profiles and contacting artisans. Our mission is to make skilled labor more accessible to everyone.

3

Are the artisans on Worker.NG verified or vetted by you?

This is a very important question. No, we do not vet or verify the artisans listed on our platform. Worker.NG operates as a public directory, similar to a phone book. We provide the platform for artisans to list their services, but we do not conduct background checks, verify their skills, or endorse their work. We strongly encourage you to perform your own due diligence before hiring anyone. You can read our full Disclaimer for more information.

4

How does the 5-star rating system work?

The rating system is powered by the community. After you’ve had an experience with an artisan, you can visit their profile page and leave a star rating from one to five. This helps other users make more informed decisions. To prevent misuse, the system is based on one vote per person (tracked by IP address) for each artisan.

5

How do I contact an artisan?

On every artisan’s profile page, you will find a “Contact this Artisan” section. You have two options:

  • Reveal Phone Number: Click this button to see the artisan’s direct phone number.
  • Send via WhatsApp: Fill in your name and message in the form and click the button. This will automatically open WhatsApp on your device with a pre-filled message ready for you to review and send.

6

What should I do if I have a bad experience with an artisan?

We are sorry to hear you had a difficult experience. While Worker.NG is not a party to any agreements made between you and an artisan, we do want to maintain the quality of our directory. Every artisan profile has a “Report Profile” flag icon. Please use this feature to report any profiles that you believe are fraudulent, misleading, or contain inappropriate content. Our moderation team will review the report. For disputes regarding work quality or payment, those must be resolved directly with the artisan.

7

Why can’t I find any artisans in my area?

Worker.NG is a growing community. If you can’t find an artisan in your specific LGA or town, it likely means no one from that area has created a profile yet. We are constantly working to expand our reach. We recommend checking back regularly or searching in a nearby town or LGA.

🔧 Questions for Artisans (Listing Your Services)

8

How do I create a profile on Worker.NG? Is it free?

Yes, creating a profile on Worker.NG is completely free, and it always will be. We believe in empowering artisans, not charging them. To sign up, simply go to our “Submit a Profile” page and fill out the form. You don’t need an email address or a password—just your professional details and contact information.

9

What information will I need to provide to create a profile?

To make your profile as helpful as possible for customers, we ask for:

  • Your Name & Business Name: Your personal name and an optional business name.
  • Your Primary Skill: Your main area of expertise (e.g., “Welder,” “Fashion Designer”).
  • Services Offered: A list of specific services you provide.
  • Location: Your State, LGA, and Town/City, plus a nearby landmark to help customers find you.
  • Contact Details: A valid Phone Number and WhatsApp number are required so customers can reach you directly.
  • Photos: A clear profile picture (headshot) is required, and you have the option to upload a cover photo showcasing your work.

10

Why is my profile “Pending Review” after I submitted it?

Every new profile is reviewed by our moderation team before it goes live on the site. This is a simple quality control step to ensure profiles are complete and do not contain any inappropriate content. This process typically takes 24-48 hours. You do not need to do anything else during this time.

11

How do customers contact me? Will Worker.NG take a commission?

Customers will contact you directly using the phone number and WhatsApp number you provide on your profile. Worker.NG is not involved in your communication or business transactions in any way. We are a directory, not a middleman, and we never take a commission or fee from the work you get through our platform.

12

How can I edit my profile after it has been submitted?

Currently, our platform is designed for simplicity and does not support user accounts, which means you cannot edit a profile yourself after it has been submitted. If you have made a significant error or need to update your contact information, please contact us through our Contact Page, and our team will assist you. We are working on adding an edit feature in the future.

13

How can I get more positive ratings and reviews?

The best way to get good ratings is to provide excellent, professional service. After you complete a job for a customer you found on Worker.NG, don’t be afraid to politely ask them to visit your profile and leave a star rating. Good ratings are the most powerful way to build trust and attract more customers on the platform.

14

What happens if someone leaves a negative rating or reports my profile?

Negative ratings are a part of doing business and provide valuable feedback. We do not remove negative ratings unless they are part of a clear pattern of malicious abuse. If your profile is reported, our moderation team will review it to ensure it complies with our guidelines.
