WORKER.NG

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

At Worker.NG, we want people to understand what happens to information they provide to us and what information may be collected when they use the platform.

This Privacy Policy explains the information Worker.NG may collect, why we use it, how we handle it, and the choices available to you.

1. About Worker.NG

Worker.NG is a Nigerian online directory and discovery platform for artisans and service professionals. Our website helps people search for artisans, view profiles, and connect with service providers.

For privacy questions or requests, please use our Contact page.

2. Information you provide to us

Depending on how you use Worker.NG, you may provide information such as:

  • your name and contact details;
  • account and login-related information;
  • artisan business or service information;
  • State, LGA, skill and other profile information;
  • photographs, descriptions and other profile content;
  • information supplied when claiming or managing an artisan profile;
  • ratings, reviews and other feedback;
  • messages or enquiries you send to us; and
  • information you provide when reporting a problem or requesting support.

3. Information that may be collected automatically

When you use the website, certain technical information may be collected automatically. This can include your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, pages viewed, approximate time of access, referring pages and information about how the website is used.

We use this information to operate the website, understand usage, maintain security, diagnose technical problems and improve Worker.NG.

4. Location information

Some Worker.NG features use location information to make nearby discovery possible.

When you choose to use a “near me” feature, your browser or device may ask for permission to provide your current location. You can refuse that permission. If you refuse it, nearby search may not be available, but the rest of the directory can generally still be used.

Worker.NG may also store location coordinates supplied by an artisan for directory location features. Exact coordinates used for nearby calculations are not intended to be displayed publicly.

5. Worker.NG Passport

Worker.NG Passport allows an eligible artisan to provide a current or temporary working location so that the artisan can be discovered by people searching nearby.

A Passport location is separate from the artisan’s permanent State or LGA profile information. It may expire automatically or remain active until the artisan changes or clears it, depending on the option selected.

Passport coordinates are used for location calculations and are not presented as exact public coordinates on the directory.

6. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • provide and operate Worker.NG;
  • create and display directory profiles;
  • process accounts, profile claims and profile updates;
  • provide search and nearby discovery;
  • process ratings and other user contributions;
  • respond to enquiries and support requests;
  • detect abuse, fraud and security threats;
  • understand how people use the platform and improve it;
  • measure website performance and advertising effectiveness where applicable;
  • comply with legal obligations; and
  • protect the rights, safety and security of Worker.NG and its users.

7. Public information

Worker.NG is a public directory. Information intentionally included in an artisan profile may be visible to other website visitors and may be indexed by search engines.

Artisans should therefore think carefully about information they choose to publish. Do not place sensitive personal information in a public profile unless it is genuinely necessary for the service being offered.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

Worker.NG may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website functioning, remember preferences, understand traffic and improve the user experience.

Third-party services used on the site may also use cookies or similar technologies for functions such as analytics, security or advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect some website features.

9. Analytics, advertising and third-party services

We may use third-party services to help us understand website usage, improve performance, protect the platform, or display and measure advertising.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and the settings available through their services. Worker.NG does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.

Where advertising is displayed, advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to provide, personalise or measure advertisements, subject to the provider’s policies and applicable settings.

10. How information may be shared

We do not treat the information we hold as something to sell simply because it has value.

Information may be shared or made available when necessary to operate Worker.NG, including with service providers that support hosting, security, analytics, communications, advertising or technical operations.

We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security or property of Worker.NG, our users or others.

11. Data retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing the service, maintaining records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, complying with legal requirements and protecting our legitimate interests.

Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information and why we hold it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss or alteration. No internet service can promise absolute security, so users should also take reasonable steps to protect their accounts and devices.

13. Your choices and requests

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be able to ask us to access, correct, update or delete personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about how it is being used.

Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention or operational reasons.

To make a privacy request, contact us through our Contact page. Please provide enough information for us to understand the request and verify that it concerns you.

14. Children’s privacy

Worker.NG is intended for general audiences and is not designed as a service for children to create public professional profiles. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children for the purpose of creating public artisan listings.

15. Links to other websites

Worker.NG may link to websites operated by other organisations. Once you leave Worker.NG, the other website’s privacy policy and practices apply. We encourage you to review those policies before providing personal information.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

As Worker.NG grows, our services and the ways in which information is handled may change. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page, together with the date it was last updated.
